Why Moniepoint is restructuring its engineering and product teams?

Nigerian fintech unicorn Moniepoint is undertaking a major restructuring of its engineering and product divisions, a move that will result in some roles becoming redundant as the company shifts towards a leaner and more autonomous operating model. While the company insists the exercise should not be viewed as a layoff, affected employees have been offered voluntary exit packages, and a redundancy process will follow where suitable alternative roles cannot be identified.
